Collaboration among several science centres, exchanging know-how, following up recent evolutions. Several umbrella organisations representing science centres make it all possible.

These science centre associations regularly organise seminars and workshops where members pore over the problems of popularising science. They are excellent platforms for exchanging experiences. The umbrella associations also act as intermediaries for the exchange of interactive exhibits, exhibitions and even staff. |

Technopolis is a member of these organisations:
- ECSITE (European Collaborative for Science, Industry and Technology Exhibition) is a network with 240 members in more than 35 European countries. Technopolis is a full member of the association, chairs the European conference of science centres and is a deputy member of the Management Board.
- ASTC, or the Association of Science-Technology Centres, is an international umbrella organisation with 536 members and 62 governing members worldwide. Apart from science centres, the membership includes science museums and kindred organisations. Technopolis is governing member and director of ASTC.;
- The Vereniging van Science Centra is open to science centres in the Netherlands and Flanders. The association was founded to encourage co-operation between science centres from the same language area. Technopolis is an active member of the association.
- EUSCEA (European Science Events Association) was founded at the end of 2001 by 52 professional science communicators of 39 organisations in 23 European countries, including Technopolis. The organisation’s objective is to improve cross-border communication and the exchange of events, speakers and exhibitions, and bring about better financing of science events in Europe.
