Are men and women really that different? Where do these differences come from? This interactive exhibition tells visitors all about it.

the gender EXPERIMENT is an interactive exhibition about the talents of women and men.

By means of many interactive hands-on exhibits, visitors take part in an experiment were they find out what women can do better than men and what men can do better than women.

In this exhibition visitors can discover their own and each other’s talents and skills. They find out which ‘differences between the sexes’ are real, and which are imaginary. They experience that those differences are seldom clear-cut and often minimal and gradual. This way the gender EXPERIMENT lets women and men discover that science and technology are not exclusively 'men’s business'.

The unique registration system lets the visitor compare their score on each exhibit with the average male and female visitor. On arrival they get an RFID bracelet. After registration, each exhibit automatically uses the visitors' language and knows their gender.
It displays the result and the averages. At the end, the visitor can also print a report with the personal results and all averages.

The visitor can determine the sex of two skeletons, attribute a gender to different smells, point out the North, become a human battery, demonstrate their multitasking capacities, test their surgical dexterity, engage personnel, attach population pyramids to continents, install electricity, recognise faces, program a robot, play a mathematical board game, ...
