Join the Ketnet Tour!

Science is everywhere!’ Under that motto, Ketnet dives into science throughout the school year. And what better place to do that than Technopolis?!

That’s why Ketnet wrappers Nidal, Emma, Nona, Thomas and Lee came to visit recently. Like true science fans, they tried one exhibit after another. Can you guess which exhibit each of them chose as their favourite? And do you dare do the challenge that goes with it?

Take the Ketnet Tour at Technopolis and earn a Ketnet science diploma!

How do you do the Ketnet Tour?

By testing all the favourite exhibits of the Ketnet wrappers! Start with the first one, do the challenge, then move on to the next one. Each exhibit comes with a video in which a Ketnet wrapper explains how it works, so you’ll find out step by step which exhibit goes with whom.

Discover all the exhibits of the Ketnet Tour below.

Pijl Ketnet Toer 1

Luminous wall

Giving your shadow a moustache? Playing Pictionary without paper? They’re all possible on our luminous wall. Put the light pen on the wall and write or draw away! It’s not magic, though: it’s a great example of phosphorescence!

Fireman’s pole

Swish! There’s nothing like our fireman’s pole for getting down to the ground. Just hug the pole a hug and cross your legs, and before you know it – thanks to gravity – you’ll have both feet on the ground again.

Puzzle

Does the word puzzle’ get you thinking about a box full of loose pieces? Our puzzle is more like a maze. You can see the entrance and exit, but to get from one point to another you need pure logic. Something that also comes in handy in maths lessons.

Vacuum cleaner lift

You know what a vacuum cleaner is, and you know what a lift is. But a vacuum cleaner lift? You should definitely try that out. Just sit down, press the button and, lo and behold, up you go. And all because of a difference in pressure.

Maxwell’s wheel

This wheel acts like a giant inverted yo-yo. Give a tug on the rope and you fly upwards! Gravitational energy then brings you back down, and kinetic energy makes you fly back up again in next to no time. In this way, you experience for yourself how the law of conservation of energy works.

Photo Moment

End the tour in our living room – or why don’t we call it a studio? There, you and your friends can pretend you’re hanging from the ceiling, floating above the fireplace or sitting upside down in the sofa. Thirteen pictures will be taken in quick succession to form a wacky movie. In short, the ideal souvenir of the Ketnet Tour.

Ready? Get your Ketnet science diploma!

Did you do all the exhibits? Then you’ll receive a Ketnet science diploma from us. Schools are given a large version to put up in the classroom. On family days, we hand one out to each child who completes the tour, with a nice discount on it for a subsequent visit.

Ketnet and science

Ketnet is focussing on science for a whole school year. Not surprisingly, they came knocking on Technopolis’s door. Together with all the wrappers, we’ll be showing as many children as possible that science is everywhere and can also be a lot of fun.

What you need to know

Recommended for children between 6 and 12 years, but anyone can take part.
You don’t need to register separately: you can come and take the Ketnet Tour any time. All the activities are included in the price of your day ticket.
On arrival, each child is given a route with a challenge for each exhibit. You will also find these routes just past the entrance gates. Schools can ask for their route planners at the reception desk. Prefer not to use paper? You can also complete the Ketnet Tour via the Technopolis app, where you’ll find fun quiz questions to go with the exhibits.
