AI weekend

Dive into the world of artificial intelligence on 2 and 3 August
What is artificial intelligence? What can you do with it? And when is it best avoided? Do these questions nag at you, too?

Fortunately, we will shortly be holding an AI-themed weekend, with a special show, a theatre performance and (courtesy of JEF) plenty of games for curious minds aged 7 and above. It is also the perfect opportunity to expand your horizons in our temporary AI zone!

And the best is yet to come: on 2 and 3 August, AI also stands for All Included. What are you waiting for?

Frankenstaals robot show (NL)

During this new show, you will meet Frankenstaal, a maker through and through, who lives to bring new things to life. This maker is crazy about new technology like AI. Together with digital assistant AI-co and robot dog Wify, Frankenstaal explores the boundaries of what is possible.

Sunday, 3 August at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2.45 p.m.

Rock, paper, scissors against AI

The rules of this game are simple. The outcome is unpredictable. Or at least it is when your opponent is a human. Will you win against our robot hand? Move your hand in view of a camera and watch as two animated hands in a Japanese dojo form a rock, paper or scissors.

Improbotics Performance (NL)

Can a robot ever create improvisational theatre? What do art, creativity and humour mean in times of smart technology and self-learning algorithms? During this unique theatre performance, we test this out by breathing life into a chatbot.

While True Learn

Suppose you develop neural networks (computer programs inspired by the human brain), but your cat seems to be better at it than you! There is only one thing to do: create a cat-to-human translation system. Solve puzzles, buy awesome cat outfits and find out how machine learning really works.

And there is much more besides!

Our list of activities is as big as the number of twists and turns in the human brain. Or almost. During the AI weekend, all our new exhibits and zones will also be open, and there will be (even more) live entertainment.

Prepare for your visit

Everything you need to know

On Saturday, 2 and Sunday, 3 August 2025. All these activities are included in the price of your day ticket. The games "Autodraw" and "The Infinite Drum Machine" may perhaps be replaced.
* A bit too young? With a little help, younger children are also welcome to join in. We don’t apply strict age limits.
We are planning a special summer programme. Rather than firing water rockets, we'll make "wings of paper" inside. Instead of the open-air show "De allerslimste wetenschapper", we will present a performance/show you never get to see otherwise.

Why an AI weekend?

While we’re still in the midst of a historic transformation due to the advent of AI, it’s important for us to prepare as many young people and adults as possible to participate in this revolution now. During the AI weekend, we don’t just provide answers – we also encourage critical reflection and debate.

In cooperation with

ERLNMYR (theatre performance Improbotics) and JEF (AI Atelier Arcade, Autodraw, The Infinite Drum Machine and While True Learn)
