Terms and conditions concerning ticket sales and online ticket sales

Admission tickets and online tickets that have been bought through and/​or are issued by Technopolis NV are subject to the General Terms and Conditions. The sale of admission tickets and online tickets other than those issued by Technopolis passes through different channels and they do not come under these General Terms and Conditions. Technopolis assumes responsibility only for providing support for problems with the receipt of tickets.

Purchase

A person making an electronic purchase (“Buyer”) is responsible for correctly indicating the requested Personal Data for the intention of Technopolis. This applies to the Personal Data of the Buyer and those of all the people concerned (“Third Party/​Third Parties”) for whom Online Tickets and/​or Admission Tickets are purchased.

On the Website, you may buy online admission tickets (“Online Tickets”) for a visit to Technopolis. Online Ticket” means the document that is ordered and paid on the Website and is printed out or displayed by the buyer on the smartphone, intended to serve as an admission ticket.

Apart from Online Tickets, it is also possible to buy tickets (“Admission Tickets”) on the spot (at the Technopolis desk) for a visit to Technopolis.

When ordering Online Tickets, the buyer should, before paying, indicate the email address to which the Online Tickets are to be sent after payment. The buyer is responsible for indicating a correct email address. Technopolis cannot be held liable if the buyer does not receive the Online Ticket because an incorrect email address has been indicated. This email address will be used by Technopolis to send Online Tickets to.

The Buyer bears the costs of all taxes and VAT.

The visitor to the Website who makes the purchase is considered the Buyer. He/​she is the only one with an obligation to pay, even if the Online Tickets are meant for a third party. The Online Tickets may not be resold or passed on as gift to third parties within the framework of a commercial relationship.

Purchased tickets may not be used for advertising, promotion, matches and similar save with the express consent of Technopolis.

Tickets on the website

The Online Tickets should be paid immediately when booking them through the payment platform as provided for on the Website. The money will be debited immediately after the online payment. The payment module is directly managed by Adyen (sofware Enviso van Gantner NV). Personal Data required to process the payment will be exchanged. Technopolis waives all liability with regard to the said payment module. If for any reason it does not work or does not work temporarily, you will not be able to buy an Online Ticket/​Online Tickets. In this case, you will have to apply directly to the Technopolis desk.

If the buyer has not received his/​her Admittance Tickets, he/​she should phone 015342000 during office hours.

The Online Ticket is valid if its printout (colour or black and white) on white A4 paper is perfectly legible. If the ticket is illegible and/​or of poor quality, admission may be refused. It is also possible to show the barcode of the Online Ticket and have it scanned on a smartphone.

Each Online Ticket can be used only once and only during the period of validity displayed on the Online Ticket. Any attempt at misuse, forgery or fraud gives Technopolis the right to institute proceedings under civil law and/​or penal law. An Online Ticket cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Admission to Technopolis is granted only to the first person presenting the original Online Ticket. Every subsequent ticket presented will be regarded as a copy and will not give admission to Technopolis.

Right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal, provided for in Article VI.47 of the Code of Economic Law concerning market practices and consumer protection in distance selling, is not applicable. Technopolis® refers to Article VI.53(12) of the Code of Economic Law (which stipulates that the consumer cannot exercise the right of withdrawal provided for in Article VI.47 for (…) offering accommodation other than for residential purposes, transport, car rental services, catering and leisure services, if a particular date or period of implementation is provided for in the agreements). The Online Tickets come within the scope of leisure services within the meaning of Article VI.53(12) of the Code of Economic Law.

Protection of personal data

All information about an identified or identifiable natural person is considered Personal Data (“Personal Data”). A natural person is considered identifiable if he/​she can be directly or indirectly identified, in particular on the basis of an identifier (name, identification number, location data, an online identifier or one or more elements that are characteristic of the physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person).

Personal Data are collected for the purpose of offering and selling Online Tickets and Admission Tickets to the Buyer and Third Parties. Personal Data will be kept for a period of two years after the purchase of Online Tickets and/​or Admission Tickets. After this period, Technopolis will take the steps necessary to anonymise these Personal Data.

Personal Data received will be processed by Technopolis. Technopolis takes responsibility for protecting the Personal Data received and will take appropriate organisational and technical measures to this end. Personal Data are not shared with or sold to third parties, third countries or international organisations other than those mentioned in this agreement.

Both the Buyer and a Third Party may at all times withdraw the consent they have given or request to inspect their personal data and have them rectified or erased. A request may also be made to restrict processing or raise objections to processing and the right to the transferability of data. For this purpose, contact must in all cases be made through info@​technopolis.​be.

If the Buyer or a Third Party wishes to lodge a complaint for violation of his Personal Data, the entity to be contacted is in all cases the supervisory authority.
