Technopolis is open every day of the year. Or almost. Before you leave for a visit, check whether and until when we are open. Science never stands still, but fortunately our employees do take a rest now and then.

When are we open?

Technopolis is open almost every day of the year, including Sundays and public holidays, from 9.30 to 5 p.m. There are a few exceptions:

  • During the school term we are open on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 5 pm. There is one exception: on Wednesday 1 May 2024 we open at 9.30 am.
  • We stay open until 6 p.m. during (Flemish) school holidays (all except for the summer holidays). Each holiday at Technopolis starts on a Saturday and ends on a Sunday.
  • On 24 and 31 December we are open until 4 p.m.

When is Technopolis closed?

  • New Year’s Day (every year)
  • 25 December (every year)
  • On Wednesday mornings during the school term
  • From Monday 2 until Friday 20 September 2024
  • On Monday 4 November 2024, Monday 6 January 2025, Monday 10 March 2025 and Tuesday 22 April 2025

On schooldays

On schooldays, we mainly receive students. On these days all expos and zones are open and you get to witness amazing science demonstrations at regular intervals. However you cannot attend any shows.

Quiet moments

If you want to visit when it’s quiet, consider visiting on a Wednesday or during weekends when the weather is nice. It is also usually very quiet on school days from 3 to 5 p.m. (closing time).

How much time do I reserve for a visit?

How long your visit to Technopolis takes, depends on many factors. Are you bringing children who want to get to the bottom of every experiment? Or are they more selective? Our offer also varies. In the weekend and on holidays we have shows and sometimes also workshops. 

We estimate that a visit lasts 4 hours on average, but it may be that your visit lasts longer or shorter.
